College baseball roundup: USC dumped by Cal, 7-2

Chris Paul collected five RBI and Brett Cumberland added two to lead the No. 22 Cal baseball team to a 7-2 victory over No. 15 USC on Monday night in a Pac-12 Conference game in Berkeley.

The Trojans (35-18, 16-11) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Dante Flores RBI single, and Timmy Robinson (Ocean View High) later scored on an error.

The Bears (33-17, 17-10) rallied with three runs in the third and two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings. Cumberland had a two-run single to highlight the third inning and Paul had a two-run double in the fifth to lead the Bears back.
