Cody Kessler Named Finalist For 2015 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award

Quarterback Cody Kessler repeated as a one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, presented to the nation’s top quarterback who is a senior or fourth-year junior.

Kessler, who also was a finalist for the award in 2014, joins TCU’s Trevone Boykin, Michigan State’s Connor Cook, Memphis’ Paxton Lynch and Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott as 2015 finalists.

Former Trojan quarterbacks Rodney Peete (1988), Carson Palmer (2002) and Matt Leinart (2005) previously won the Unitas Golden Arm Award.

Earlier this week, Kessler was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top player, and Davey O’Brien Award, which goes to the nation’s top quarterback.
