Camren McDonald de-commits from 2018 USC recruiting class

Months after declaring himself ‘flippable’, four-star Long Beach Poly tight end/wide receiver Camren McDonald has de-committed from USC’s 2018 football recruiting class. He had pledged himself to the Trojans in June.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder announced his decision on Twitter:

I have decided that I want to reopen my recruiting process and decommit from The University of Southern California. No interviews pic.twitter.com/Q4hwbkqLgA

McDonald, a hybrid tight end-receiver, had been recruited to play a hybrid tight end slot role previously filled at USC by Bryce Dixon. His athleticism and ability to play down as an attached tight end or split wide could have given offensive coordinator Tee Martin plenty of options in the passing game.
