Boys tennis notes: Sage Hill’s upset of CdM was another sign of a program on the rise

When former Sage Hill tennis coach A.G. Longoria took over the tennis program as the school opened in 2000, he had five major goals: become the dominant sport on campus; help build a new tennis facility; win a CIF-SS championship; defeat the defending CIF Division 1 champs and become a Division 1 program.

It took 17 years, but the Lightning is on the verge of having each of those boxes finally checked off.

For the first time in school history, Sage Hill knocked off county power Corona del Mar, 10-8, last week at its state-of-the-art on-campus facility.
