LOS ANGELES – Momentum and progress have been fleeting concepts, for multiple decades, for USC basketball. The riddle of sustainable success has been unsolvable for many head coaches.
The Trojans have inspired hope this season with a (temporary) rise to the top of the Pac-12 Conference and a decisive victory over their crosstown rivals, but head-scratching moments also have been plentiful, including stretches of USC’s 81-71 victory over Washington State on Thursday night at Galen Center.
USC, a team known for balanced scoring, got more of it, as Katin Reinhardt (18 points) led five USC scorers who reached double figures.
