Las Vegas native Bryce Harper signed a 13-year, $330 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, March 3, giving him the honor of the biggest contract in Major League Baseball history over Giancarlo Stanton’s $325 million contract signed with the Miami Marlins in 2015.
Harper, age 26, was born in Las Vegas and attended Las Vegas High School and then played ball for the College of Southern Nevada.
He was drafted first overall in the 2010 MLB Draft by the Washington Capitals and played for the team for seven years. He made his professional debut in 2012 and won National League Rookie of the Year.
