After a tough, double overtime loss to rival UNR, another West Coast foe knocked the Lady Rebels out of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament March 15.
The Utah Utes shot 35 percent from three-point range, including five makes in the first quarter, and buried UNLV 78-68 in the first round of the WNIT in Salt Lake City.
The Lady Rebels were unable to counter the Utes accuracy from behind the arc. As a team, UNLV made only four of 19 three-point attempts, shooting just 21 percent, and didn’t make a three during the second quarter, a quarter that all but sealed the fate of the game.
