The heat is starting to rise in the Vegas valley, as the UNLV women’s tennis team prepares for conference play by splitting their final two matches before the battle in the Mountain West begins.
UNLV’s first game in three days resulted in a 4-2 loss to 35th-ranked Columbia at the Fertittia Tennis Complex. The Rebels jumped out to a big lead in singles play, but lost the advantage as Columbia stormed back to defeat the home team.
Senior Aiwen Zhu and junior teammate En-Pei Huang teamed up in doubles (the duo is ranked 48th in the nation) to take a thrilling 1-0 lead.
