UNLV women’s cross-country has a new addition from Australia. Junior Brooke Cassar, 21, is a foreign exchange student from Wollongong, Australia and is brand new to the Las Vegas area.
Cassar moved to the United States in 2012 to run cross-country at the University of Central Arkansas. There she placed 54th in Division I nationals and received Academic All-American, but soon found herself seeking bigger competition as she improved in the sport.
“I asked the University of Central Arkansas to break my contract in order to speak to other universities,” Cassar said. “I wanted more of a challenge.
