Battling injuries and wanting to spark new energy, UNLV basketball head coach Marvin Menzies reshuffled his starting lineup and it ended with a two-point win over Colorado State to open Mountain West play Wednesday, January 2.
“One and zero at home, 1-0 in conference, so we’ll take it. Not pretty but it doesn’t have to be when you get to conference,” Menzies said.
This is the second time in the last five games where the Rebels have won on a last second, game-winning shot. This time at the hands of sophomore forward Cheick Mbacke Diong, whose putback attempt was goaltended by a Rams defender after multiple UNLV chances at the rim.
