UNLV men's golf team finishes sixth in Hawaii tournament

The UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 1-over-par 289 and finished in sixth place in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate at Kauai's Wailua Golf Course.

The Rebels finished the 17-team, 54-hole tournament with a total of 6-over 870.

Texas led wire to wire to capture the team title at 20-under 844. The Longhorns shot 4-under 284 on Friday.

Individually, four players tied for medalist honors at 6-under 210 in the 97-golfer field: Texas' Beau Hossler and Gavin Hall, California's K.K. Limbhasut and Hawaii's Skye Inakoshi.

For UNLV, sophomore John Oda led the way with an even-par 216, which tied him for 18th place.
