Three days, thirty rounds and 915 picks apart, UNLV baseball sent two players to the major leagues in this year’s 2019 MLB First-Year Draft.
All-American shortstop Bryson Stott was drafted in the first round 14th overall by the Philadelphia Phillies. Senior outfielder Max Smith was drafted in the 31st round (929th overall) by the Minnesota Twins.
Stott is the fourth Rebel player selected in the first round since Erick Fedde accomplished this feat in 2014.
