UNLV's home finale was about as ugly as possible on the field Saturday against the visiting Aztecs.
San Diego State wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, finding the endzone on their first drive, a 5-play 75-yard march that concluded with a 3-yard touchdown run from quarterback Maxwell Smith less than five minutes into the game.
The Aztecs added another touchdown in the opening quarter to take a 14-0 lead, and scored 17 in the second quarter to go up 31-0 at the half.
Aztec running back Donnel Pumphrey, a graduate of Canyon Springs High School in North Las Vegas, had 132 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first half alone.
