Tim Chambers resigned as UNLV's baseball coach on Friday, athletic driector Tina Kunzer-Murphy said in a statement Friday.
Chambers, who took an indefinite medical leave on July 9, led the Rebels to a 157-132 record in five seasons as head coach. UNLV was 25-31, including a 10-20 mark in Mountain West conference play last season.
"The last two years have been difficult for me, and it's important that at this time I focus on my health and family before making decisions about the future," Chambers said in a statement released by the university. "It's also equally important, if not moreso, for UNLV baseball and its talented student-athletes to move forward and continue its great traditions without further uncertainty.
