The Skatin’ Rebels took a split at their home opening weekend against the University of Colorado Boulder in front of packed stands at the new City National Arena.
The UNLV hockey team faced the Buffs in a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game ended in a 3-0 loss for the Rebels, but they left and returned confident for Saturday’s rematch.
“We got better towards the end of the game, we had a lot of scoring chances,” head coach Anthony Vignieri-Greener said. “We didn’t know a lot about what systems they were running. Now we know they force everything up top.
