“I know I was born somewhere else, raised somewhere else but [Las] Vegas is my home. It always will be.”
That somewhere else is Fairfield, California but Las Vegas is where UNLV football head coach Tony Sanchez has built most of his legacy.
It started at Bishop Gorman, where Sanchez took a school that wasn’t used to winning and turned it into a perennial powerhouse. “You get to Gorman and it’s a team that had never been nationally-ranked in the history and we do it six times in a row and end up winning a national title because of all of the fundamentals,” Sanchez said.
