The year’s second match-up between the UNLV and Utah State men’s basketball programs looked vastly different from the first meeting on New Year’s day.
The Runnin’ Rebels defense fizzled late as the team collapsed as the team lost 69-54, Wednesday, Feb. 5 in Logan en route to a fourth straight losing effort.
Over the last eight minutes of the game, UNLV was only able to muster six total points of offense.
Coming into the game, UNLV was its second three-game losing streak of the season and its first since November.
Having been slotted in the second place spot for the majority of the conference season, this loss knocks the Rebels down to the sixth slot in the Mountain West Conference with a 11-13 overall record and 6-5 conference record.
