The UNLV men’s basketball team finally utilized its speed and athleticism, but not by choice. With Stephen Zimmerman Jr. nursing a thigh injury, the Runnin’ Rebels scrapped the half court offense and pushed the pace.
That kept them within striking distance against No. 12 Arizona on the road. One problem: the Wildcats are just as fast and athletic and they do it better. Arizona defeated UNLV 82-70 on Saturday and extended its home-winning streak to 46 games.
Backcourt: C+
Ike Nwamu had the hot hand for the Rebels in the first half, scoring 14 points and finishing with a team-high 17.
