UNLV basketball head coach Marvin Menzies looked over at the announcers covering the team’s game at Illinois and said, “I just want them to grow up.”
The Rebels’ rally fell just short in a 77-74 loss on the road against the Fighting Illini Saturday, Dec. 8.
Sophomore Amauri Hardy missed a three-point attempt as the buzzer sounded and the team’s fate was sealed. Menzies defended him, claiming he was “trying to do the right thing.” Hardy originally committed to Oklahoma State when Illinois head coach Brad Underwood. However, he de-committed when Underwood took the job with the Fighting Illini.
