The UNLV Track & Field program placed in the top 3 of 20 events and took six wins at the inaugural Mountain West Challenge on Friday. Hosted by San Diego State, the one-day meet featured SDSU, UNLV, San Jose State and UNR, the four Mountain West institutions that have only women’s teams.
The Rebels took second overall with 145 points, just one point ahead of UNR, while the host won with 158 points.
Three victories locked in personal-best times: Najia Hudspeth in the 200-meter with 23.19 seconds, Avi’Tal Perteete in the 400-meter with 53.95 seconds and Elisa Rovere in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:34.
