Needing a win desperately, the UNLV Rebels football team squandered away a chance to stay bowl-eligible following a 48-3 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs Saturday, Nov. 3.
From the very beginning, the Rebels were playing from behind the eight-ball as head coach Tony Sanchez often says.
UNLV had a punt blocked on the team’s opening drive and on the subsequent drive missed a field goal. It led to an early 14-0 lead for Fresno State.
Sanchez said, “Without calling out names, on that blocked punt you’ve got to be more intense on that. [Fresno State] is in a punt safe and the defensive back charges hard up the field.
