Depth is now an issue for the UNLV men’s basketball team.
With Goodluck Okonoboh planning to transfer, Jerome Seagears battling the flu and Stephen Zimmerman Jr. exiting early due to a sprained right ankle, the Rebels overcame a sluggish first half to defeat Prairie View A&M 80-62 on Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center
A few dunks and driving layups from athletic freshman Derrick Jones Jr. in the opening minutes of the second half gave the Rebels a jolt to ignite a 20-4 run. UNLV went up by as much as 20 points.
Patrick McCaw had a team-high 18 points with five 3-pointers.
