Rebels blow big first-half lead, fall to Cowboys, 59-57

LARAMIE, Wyo. — Jason McManamen scored 17 points, Josh Adams added 12 and Wyoming upset UNLV 59-57 at the Arena-Auditorium, dropping the Rebels to 0-3 in the Mountain West and raising more questions about coach Dave Rice’s job security.

Derrick Jones Jr. and Ike Nwamu each scored 10 points for the Rebels (9-7). Stephen Zimmerman Jr. finished with nine points and 12 rebounds.

The Cowboys (9-8, 2-2) won despite an ugly offensive showing and off night by Adams, their leading scorer at 25.7 points per game.

The Rebels, who squandered a 17-point first-half lead, went ahead 49-48 on Nwamu’s 17-foot jumper with 4:32 remaining.
