The UNLV Rebel’s softball team began 2018 with a bang.In a pair of exciting games each decided by one-run, the Rebels toppled both North Dakota State and Creighton Feb. 9 to begin the Kristie Fox era, giving the new head coach a 2-0 start to the season. The Rebels showed resilience, having to overcome two early-game deficits before eventually coming back to win both games in their double-header. Game one against North Dakota State featured a great pitching duel between the Rebels’ Charlie Masterson (SO) and NDSU’s Jacquelyn Sertic. After a scoreless first four innings, the Bison broke through with an RBI double by Bre Beatty (SR) during the top of the fifth.
