Opinion: Jessup was wise to have millions invested in Rebel football

You have to spend money to make money.

This is exactly what current UNLV President Len Jessup has attempted to do for the Rebel football program.

Although there is debate from business and entrepreneurial minds about whether or not that adage is actually true, nobody can doubt that Jessup has placed huge hopes and ambitions into Rebel football.

Jan. 19 signaled the approval of the UNLV joint-use agreement, an agreement that ensured the Rebels will share the soon-to-be $1.9 billion Las Vegas Stadium with the Raiders.

The agreement gives UNLV access to 70 of the stadium’s 100 available suites for home games, along with the revenue generated from those suites.
