The Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents met for a special meeting Jan. 19 to discuss the terms of the joint use agreement between UNLV and the Oakland Raiders for the upcoming Las Vegas Stadium that is expected to cost an estimated $1.9 billion.
Some board members expressed discontent with the final agreement as the board had agreed in a previous meeting earlier this month that the inclusion of an express termination agreement for UNLV, basically a get out of jail free card, was necessary.
The Raiders, however, expressed that the addition of this stipulation would challenge the language in Senate Bill 1 regarding UNLV’s use of the stadium.
