UNLV’s basketball team suffered another hit today when forward Derrick Jones Jr. was ruled ineligible for the rest of the season by the NCAA after his standardized test score was deemed invalid.
The issue centers on the NCAA’s concern regarding a testing site for the American College Test. The ACT canceled the results of Jones’ test, according to UNLV.
UNLV issued a statement saying no one would comment, but Jones’ attorney, Don Jackson, released a statement.
It read: “Derrick took the ACT and made a satisfactory score. Under no circumstances will he be compelled to further substantiate his performance on the standardized test.
