Las Vegas’ NBA Summer League expands, can a NBA team relocate?

The National Basketball Association announced in January it would expand its annual Las Vegas Summer League to include all 30 teams for the first time since the NBA’s biggest offseason attraction tipped off in the desert in 2004.

This announcement comes on the heels of the closing of the Orlando Summer League that will close its doors due to NBA teams’ preference for playing in Las Vegas. This is the first expansion Las Vegas has seen since the Summer League bloomed to 22 teams in 2008.

With a full roster of NBA teams, the tournament-style league has now been extended to 12 full days of action and will run from July 6-17.
