Lady Rebels lose battle for top spot in the Mountain West

UNLV women’s basketball lost to Wyoming on Saturday, Feb.10 by a score of 69-53 and surrendered the top spot in the Mountain West to the Cowgirls. The two teams have matching 9-3 records against conference opponents but Wyoming now holds the tie-breaking season series lead over UNLV.

Cowgirls’ senior guard Liv Roberts looked unguardable against a usually stout Lady Rebel defense. Against a UNLV defense that is third in the Mountain West in shooting percentage, Roberts shot 63.6 percent from the field and led all scorers with 21 points.

Roberts led an efficient Cowgirls’ offense that, at times, seemed like it couldn’t miss.
