Goodluck Okonoboh, who left the UNLV basketball team in November but never transferred to another school, announced Sunday he was declaring for the NBA Draft.
The 6-foot 10-inch sophomore forward is the fifth Rebel since the season ended to declare early for the draft. A new rule allowing players to take more time to make a final decision means more players announce they intend to go pro while leaving open the option to return.
“Making this decision was very difficult for me,” Okonoboh said in a long statement he posted on Twitter. “In no way was my decision to leave a reaction to one event, but rather a thought out decision to reach my full potential.
