UNLV President Len Jessup and Athletics Director Tina Kunzer-Murphy have extended an offer to veteran coach Chris Beard to head the Runnin’ Rebels. Beard has accepted the terms of the offer in principle.
The Runnin’ Rebels left the 2015-16 season broken and understaffed. Kunzer-Murphy clearly aims to breathe life into the desperate program and has chosen an experienced, dedicated man to assume the role of head coach.
With the departure of former Head Coach Dave Rice, as well as former Interim Head Coach Todd Simon, Chris Beard steps into the leading role of a tattered team.
Beard remains a prospective head coach in lieu of being officially accepted.
