Despite the many up-and-downs that come with Division-I sports, it’s important to realize that UNLV is a lot closer to the top of the college basketball mountain than the bottom.
Let’s look at the women’s program first. The Lady Rebels came off of their first Mountain West regular season title since 1994 only to be upset by a No. 7 seed. To make matters worse the loss came at the hands of the arch rival Nevada Wolf Pack.
Yet, even with the loss, the Lady Rebels got an automatic bid into the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
If you look deeper, this year’s UNLV women’s team is continuing what can be a promising trend.
