Championship boxing returns to Las Vegas Feb. 17

It may have only been five months since Canelo Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin had their big fight in Las Vegas last September, but for Fight Town, USA, that can feel like quite a while. But the wait is over. Former champions Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-1, 19 KOs), and Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (34-3-1, 25 KOs), will fight in a scheduled 12-round main event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center that will be televised on Showtime.

The co-main event will feature the youngest world-champion in all of boxing, 21-year-old David Benavidez (19-0, 17 KOs), making the first defense of his title in a rematch against Romania’s Ronald Gavril (18-2, 14 KOs).
