Five takeaways from the UNLV basketball team's 111-104 double-overtime loss at Fresno State on Saturday:
- Until medical tests are completed, it's difficult to know for sure, but the left knee injury to Stephen Zimmerman Jr. doesn't appear to be nearly as bad as the one teammate Ben Carter suffered. Zimmerman walked without crutches after the game and watched the second half and overtimes from the bench.
- The zone works. Fresno State made its shots, and just because the opponent scores doesn't mean the defense is bad. Even when/if Zimmerman returns, the Rebels need to make the 2-3 zone a major part of their defensive plans.
