The 2023 Women’s World Cup is down to the final 8 teams, and for the first time in history, the United States Women’s National Team is not a part of it. Their exit in the Round of 16 left an opportunity for another team to get their chance to lift the World Cup trophy. And, for the first time in a while, the odds are great that a team might win the trophy for the first time.
Of the 8 teams remaining - Australia, Colombia, England, France, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden - only Japan has won a Women’s World Cup.
