The striker will end the season with just six league appearances after failing to overcome a troublesome hip injury.
Werder Bremen has said that U.S. international forward Aron Johannsson will remain sidelined for the rest of the season with hip and groin problems.
Johannsson, 25, has not played since Sept. 22 and will end his debut season in Bremen with six league appearances and two goals. He joined Werder Bremen from Dutch side AZ in the offseason.
"We have written Aron off for this season," Werder Bremen CEO Thomas Eichin told Bild.
