Rivers United’s Wasiu Jimoh has exuded confidence that his goals will help the Pride of Rivers seal a place in the playoffs spot at the end of the regular season.
Jimoh’s 31st minute powerfully struck free-kick was the difference when Rivers United hosted and beat Niger Tornadoes by a lone goal at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt last weekend to jump to the seventh spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League Group A with 19 points from 13 games.
Reviewing the role he and his teammates played in their latest win and their desire to displace one of the occupants of the playoffs zone by the time the regular season comes to an end, the former FC IfeanyiUbah and 3SC winger disclosed that they won’t relent in their desire to ensure that Rivers United play on the continent later in the year when another season begins.
