Victor Montagliani elected as new president of CONCACAF

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) have elected a new president on Thursday. Canadian Soccer Assossication president Victor Montagliani won the two-man election over Larry Mussenden becoming the first ever non-Carribean official to ever hold the position.

CONCACAF have been at the heart of the FIFA scandal with several of their past presidents being main figures in the widespread corruption that has crippled soccer's world governing body.

Since 2011, the federation have had four different presidents or acting presidents in charge. All four were removed from office or suspended due to corruption charges.
