United States international Josh Sargent will be out until January with a hamstring injury, his club, Werder Bremen, has announced.
Sargent, 19, picked up the injury in the U.S.'s 4-0 victory over Cuba in CONCACAF Nations League play last month, according to a team release.
After playing the full 90 minutes against Cuba, he came on as a substitute in Werder Bremen's match against Wolfsburg on Dec. 1, but complained about the pain in the subsequent training session.
"Since this is a small, deep-set muscle, the problems only occur at certain, very specific loads, which is why he was able to play and train for so long with problems.
