Aaron Long has been a mainstay with the USMNT since breaking through with the NY Red Bulls in 2017. In that time he also won MLS Defender of the Year in 2018 and has been linked to several Premier League clubs, but moves abroad were not finalized for the center back.
Long seemed to be on track for a callup to either the Nations League or Gold Cup this summer for the USMNT, but those plans will be shelved. Over the weekend, Long sustained an injury against the Philadelphia Union in the Red Bulls 1-0 loss in Chester.
