The United States Men’s National Team got back to business with a 6-1 destruction of Martinique in their second group stage match at the Gold Cup. There were a number of worthy candidates for the Man of the Match, as several players had wonderful performances for the USMNT.
However, there was one man whose play stood well above the rest. Daryl Dike, who officially had a brace but had his hand in 3 goals, put on a memorable show for the fans in attendance in Kansas City. He served notice that he is ready to contend to be the starting center forward when World Cup qualifying begins in September, and he was voted the Man of the Match by the SSFC community.
