The United States men’s national team opened the 2021 Gold Cup with a 1-0 win over Haiti. The U.S. opened the scoring early through Sam Vines’ first-ever international goal but was unable to build on it throughout the night. I won’t be a match or performance that anyone will be talking about with admiration, but it’s a solid opening to the tournament.
