Five years ago in Argentina, Colombia met Peru in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Copa America. The Colombians were the big favourites. They had their generation of strikers spearheaded by the then-feared Radamel Falcao, and they could also count on good support -- that tournament was the first sign of Colombia's exuberant travelling army of fans who have been such a feature of subsequent competitions.
But Peru waited them out, helped by Falcao missing a penalty. The underdogs were happy to wait...
