Part of a wave of young Americans to sign with teams in Europe over the past few years, Juan Pablo Torres left Georgia United to join KSC Lokeren in the Belgian First Division A in 2017. Two years and two first team appearances later, he was looking for a new opportunity and it would seem that he’s found it with NYCFC according to the team.
Torres has featured in the youth national team set up and scored four goals for the U-20s as they qualified for the World Cup in Poland this summer. The midfielder joins NYCFC as the team looks to re-build somewhat after the departure of David Villa and a 2018 season in which they struggled down the stretch leading to the MLS Playoffs.
