U.S. prospects blog: Jordan Morris feeling the pressure for club, country

MIAMI -- Barely five games into his professional career, Jordan Morris is feeling the pressure.

The former Stanford University standout -- he led the Cardinal to the NCAA title and won the Hermann Trophy as college soccer's top player last year -- has yet to score a goal. His hometown Seattle Sounders, which signed him to the biggest homegrown contract in MLS history in January, have started a season with three consecutive losses for the first time in its eight-year history. Now, as the most experienced player on the U.S. U-23 team (Morris' nine senior caps lead the squad) that will attempt to upset Colombia over two legs and claim the final berth for this summer's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro starting with Friday's difficult road match in Barranquilla, the scrutiny is sure to ramp up another notch.
