U.S. prospects blog: Foreign-based youngsters to watch versus Colombia

MIAMI -- While almost half of the U.S. under-23 roster for Friday's Olympic qualifying match in Colombia and the return leg in Frisco, Texas, on March 29 (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2/WatchESPN) participated in the senior team's monthlong January/February camp, the fact remains that the majority of Andi Herzog's 23-man squad did not.

That means that the foreign-based contingent (Stuttgart's Jerome Kiesewetter was the only non-MLS rep among U23 at the beginning of the year) will have to get on the same page quickly. So far, so good, it seems.

"At the end of the day it's soccer -- it doesn't matter if you play in Europe, Mexico or MLS," Kiesewetter said before the team trained here on Tuesday.
