United States' backs against wall after Colombia loss - Klinsmann

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The United States dropped Friday's Copa America Centenario opener against Colombia, setting up what coach Jurgen Klinsmann called a "backs-against-the-wall" match with Costa Rica in the team's second Group A match.

Despite that reality, Klinsmann chose to accentuate the positive after the 2-0 loss to the world's No. 3-ranked team.

Cristian Zapata gave Los Cafeteros the early lead when he headed home an eighth-minute corner kick. James Rodriguez provided the eventual dagger shortly before halftime, when he converted a penalty awarded after U.S. defender DeAndre Yedlin was whistled handling the ball inside the Americans' 18 yard box.
