Tim Howard out four months with adductor fracture

The Colorado Rapids announced on Monday afternoon that their goalkeeper and USMNT veteran, Tim Howard, will undergo surgery for a fractured adductor, which he sustained in the 2-1 loss to Mexico on Friday night.

Howard is expected to miss at least four months which means he’ll miss out on the Rapids upcoming Western conference final, the USMNT’s away World Cup qualifier in Costa Rica, and possibly even two more Hexagonal matches in March depending on how his recovery is goes.

In the short term, the smart money is on Brad Guzan to assume the starting job once again.
