Sydney FC held by Shanghai SIPG in six-goal thriller

Sydney FC have fallen just short of upsetting Chinese champions Shanghai SIPG in the Asian Champions League as an entertaining contest ended 3-3 at Jubilee.

On the back of their last-minute Big Blue win on the weekend, the Sky Blues started the match with a spring in their step and found the opener after just three minutes.

Siem De Jong worming his way into the box before unleashing a drilled, deflected effort that fortuitously found the back of the net.

Though slow out of the gate, Shanghai eased themselves into the contest and equalised in the 27th minute as former Chelsea midfielder Oscar found the head of Wunjen Lu, who guided the ball into the bottom right of goal.
