The summer of 2016 was a fantastic time to be a fan of the beautiful game. Not only did we get the regularly scheduled EURO 2016, UEFA’s championship that occurs every four years, but we also got to see a special edition of the Copa America that involved CONCACAF powers.
If reports are to be believed, beginning in 2020 we’ll get that overload of soccer goodness every four years. Globo Esporte, a Brazilian sports news outlet, reports that after the 2019 Copa America, the USA will host another edition in 2020 and from then on the tournament will go to an every four years cycle.
